Job summary

Rea is seeking a Senior Manager – Government Audit to lead and oversee audit engagements for federal, state, and local government clients, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GASB and delivering high-quality services.

You will supervise staff, coach teams, manage client relationships, drive business development, and uphold the firm’s People First culture with focus on work-life balance and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of professional public accounting or industry experience, including GASB.
• Licensed CPA or international equivalent.
• Strong Government GAAP experience.
• Experience supervising staff and leading audit teams.
• Ability to develop client relationships and business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit engagements for government clients (federal, state, local) in accordance with firm policies and standards.
• Supervise and mentor audit staff; provide guidance and training to improve performance.
• Serve as primary contact for government clients; manage relationships and client expectations.
• Ensure audits comply with governmental regulations and accounting standards (GAAP, GASB) and deliver high-quality reports.
• Identify risks, implement corrective actions, and uphold audit quality and compliance.
• Develop and deliver training on new developments and audit techniques; promote continuous learning.
• Build relationships with clients and participate in networking events to support firm growth.
