Eagle County Government seeks a strategic Senior Accountant to serve as a financial subject matter expert, tackling complex accounting challenges, overseeing core financial operations, and leading annual audit preparations to ensure full GASB compliance and strong internal controls.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in the accounting/financial reporting field.
• Experience with preparation of annual comprehensive financial reports or audits.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Professional Finance Officer certification preferred

Mansioni

• Audit & Compliance Management: Lead external audit preparations and liaison with auditors; ensure compliance with regs and refine internal controls.
• Financial Operations & Reporting: Direct month-end and year-end close; provide budgetary analysis and GAAP adherence.
• Technical Accounting & Problem Solving: Act as in-house expert on complex topics; research and recommend solutions.
• Debt Management & Financing: Oversee debt compliance, disclosures, and bond rating agency evaluations; assist CFO on capital borrowings.
• GASB Implementation & Standards: Track and implement GASB pronouncements; document changes.
• Policy & Budget Support: Evaluate financial policies and assist with budget development and forecasting.
• Leadership & Operations: Provide guidance to finance staff and uphold agency mission and values.
