Job summary

Doña Ana County is seeking an accounting professional to analyze financial data, manage budgets, and maintain complex general ledger accounting across multiple funds under supervision. You will prepare internal financial reports, review journals, and support improvement of internal controls and compliance with policies.

Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; four years of governmental accounting experience; CPA/CGFM/CMA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Four (4) years of increasingly responsible accounting work experience; governmental accounting preferred.
• CPA/CGFM/CMA preferred.
• Knowledge of GASB statements and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a number of internal financial reports.
• Analyze and review complex statements, reports and contracts.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Review budgets for accuracy in coding.
• Assist in design and development of new accounting practices.
• Monitor internal controls and assist with audits.
