Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Experienced Senior, Outsourced Finance & Accounting Associate to lead the full cycle general accounting for Government Contracting clients. You will oversee GL, AP/AR, payroll, assets, and cash management while ensuring GAAP compliance and GovCon regulatory alignment.

You’ll support close processes, revenue recognition, and contract accounting, partnering with the consulting group to guide Associates and ensure project profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Three (3) or more years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment.
• CPA or CPA candidate, preferred.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, DCAA requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and basic research skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full cycle general accounting for GovCon clients.
• Manage general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare GAAP-compliant statements.
• Support revenue recognition, contract accounting, and policy maintenance per GovCon rules.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA and government contracting regulations.
• Assist with indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing.
• Monitor funding, financial performance, and project costs for profitability.
• Train and guide Associates on GovCon methodology and tools.
