Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Experienced Senior, Outsourced Finance & Accounting Associate to oversee the full cycle general accounting for Government Contracting clients. The role requires a strong foundation in GAAP, FAR/CAS/DCAA compliance, and hands-on experience with GovCon ERP systems.

You will guide Associates, review work, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive operational improvements and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience in a government contracting environment.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee full cycle general accounting for GovCon clients.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and GAAP-compliant statements.
• Support revenue recognition, contract accounting, and policies per GovCon regulations (FAR/CAS/DCAA).
• Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA and government contracting regulations; maintain a DCAA-compliant system.
• Assist with indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, and forward pricing support.
• Support project setup, funding, labor charging, invoicing, cost allocations and closeout.
• Monitor contract funding, financial performance, and project costs to ensure profitability.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support decisions.
