Job summary

Pebble Beach Company is seeking a Tournament Manager to coordinate all tournaments marketed, sold and run by the Tournament Office at Pebble Beach, providing operations and administrative support for PGA TOUR and USGA championships.

You will manage tournament operations, assist with budgets, marketing strategies, and communications with guests, group reservations, and the Pebble Beach website content, while upholding the company’s mission and safety policies.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of golf rules and game.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with guest service focus.
• Professional telephone, sales/marketing and basic accounting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid California driver’s license with less than 2 points.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage all tournament operations for assigned tournaments including marketing, sales, rooms coordination, food & beverage, tees, gifts, budgets, timelines and delegation of responsibilities.
• Provide operations and administrative support for PGA TOUR and USGA championships.
• Assist department on all aspects of other tournaments not assigned to Tournament Manager.
• Assist Golf division on planning and execution of specialty tournaments, including The Swallows and Partner Events.
• Assist department head on developing budgets and marketing strategies for each tournament.
• Maintain all financial records of tournaments and provide weekly status updates to department head.
• Create all collateral materials used to market tournaments in print, web and digital forms.
• Manage all room and golf blocks directly with Group Reservations; supply rooming lists and tee times in a timely manner.
• Effectively communicate with each guest through email, phone and mail correspondence.
• Manage and update content on Pebble Beach website through department head and Marketing division.
• Meet with conference services to create menus and hold function space for events.
• Comply with the Mission, Values and Standards of the Pebble Beach Company.
• Comply with all safety and health policies of the Pebble Beach Company.
