Job summary

Rockford Park District seeks a Superintendent Aldeen Golf Course to lead the maintenance of the 18-hole Bent Grass course, 26-acre Practice Centre and Pavilion grounds. You will manage maintenance staff, plan daily work, and support tournaments and events for the golf club season.

The role requires an associate degree in turf or horticulture and 5–8 years in golf course maintenance, with pesticide licensing and strong leadership abilities. On-site position with district benefits.

Qualifications

Associates degree and 5–8 years of related experience.
Bent grass greens maintenance experience preferred.
Certification in golf course maintenance or pesticide applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise golf course maintenance staff including 15-25 seasonal workers and 1 full-time employee.
Develop and implement daily work plans and training programs for the crew.
Coordinate tournament prep and support for Illinois PGA, CDGA and USGA events.
Monitor turf conditions and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides per label.
Oversee irrigation systems maintenance and equipment and ensure safety compliance.
