Job summary

The Naperville Park District seeks a highly experienced Superintendent of Golf Grounds to oversee the maintenance, operation, and ongoing improvement of our golf courses under the Director of Golf.

You will apply advanced agronomy and turf grass management knowledge, lead budgeting and capital planning, supervise staff, manage contractors, and ensure safe, high-quality playing conditions across all properties.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Turf Grass Management or related field.
• Minimum five years of golf course maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Illinois pesticide applicator license within 3 months of hire.
• GCSAA Class A or B certification desirable.
• Spanish and English bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain golf course facilities and areas to industry standards.
• Collaborate with customers to review course conditions and capital needs.
• Prepare budget, capital budgets, and year-end projections.
• Hire, train, supervise staff and approve payroll.
• Oversee contracts, bids, and pest control applications.
• Ensure safety and quality across all properties.
