Job summary

Rocky Point Golf Course in Essex, MD is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead daily maintenance and supervise turf operations. The role requires coordination with mechanics, irrigation systems, and staff to keep the course in top condition.

Qualified candidates should have an Associates Degree in Turfgrass Management (or progression toward) and at least 2 years of related experience, plus the ability to obtain a Maryland pesticide license within six months.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Turfgrass Management or related field, or progression toward completion.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in turfgrass maintenance or related area.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervising daily maintenance operations.
• Supervise pesticide and fertilizer applications including calibration of equipment.
• Coordinate with mechanic on equipment condition and availability.
• Supervise/operate automatic irrigation system and monitor performance.
• Troubleshoot problems and schedule repairs and maintenance.
• Observe course conditions and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
