Job summary

Naperville Park District's golf courses require a Superintendent of Golf Grounds who reports to the Director of Golf. This role oversees maintenance, operations, and management of the District's golf facilities, ensuring conditions meet industry standards.

The position demands strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, safety compliance, and the ability to collaborate with staff and contractors. Valid IL pesticide license within 3 months, and GCSAA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Turf Grass Management or related field required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in golf course maintenance or equivalent.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, IL pesticide applicator's license within 3 months of hire.
• Class A or B GCSAA Golf Course Superintendent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain golf course facility and manage all golf areas to industry standards.
• Collaborate with customers to review course conditions and capital needs.
• Manage inventory and purchase equipment and supplies.
• Initiate work orders for repairs, maintenance, and safety.
• Review contracts and monitor contractor performance.
• Keep records on payroll, weather data, maintenance, and fuel usage.
• Develop annual budgets and monitor expenditures.
