Job summary

Block Labs is seeking a senior Go backend engineer to own distributed, transactional backend services used in crypto, fintech, and real money gaming. You will design, implement, and operate high-volume, multi-tenant Go services with strong correctness guarantees.

You will own the system end-to-end, making architectural and implementation decisions, enabling others to contribute without degrading the platform, while maintaining production ownership and reliability.

Qualifications

• Deep proficiency in Go for high-volume transactional systems.
• Strong judgement on multi-tenancy, event-driven architecture, queues, reliability and security.
• Owns complete system from context to production readiness.
• Experience carrying full lifecycle of a system in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed Go services handling high-volume transactional workloads.
• Integrate with payments, providers, and internal platforms.
• Define scope, sequencing, and verification for work items.
• Set harnesses and guardrails for contributions without debt.
• Operate and monitor released systems, anticipate failure modes.
