Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join ACV Retail - Viper Teams, focusing on backend development with Go Lang and Node.js, hosted on AWS and leveraging Postgres and NoSQL databases. You will architect scalable services, drive reliability, and contribute to high-impact initiatives across the platform.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, end-to-end ownership, and collaboration with a distributed engineering team to deliver robust software and data-driven features.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience preferred.
• 8+ years of experience building SaaS web applications using Go Lang and Node.JS (C# optional)
• Strong experience with Go Lang, Node.js and designing enterprise applications
• Experience publishing and consuming Kafka events and building event-driven workflows
• Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, and Docker/Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Develop services using Go Lang, Node.js, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as Mongo.
• Design scalable, reliable systems with strong performance and operational excellence.
• Design and maintain Kafka-based event processing services and downstream workflows.
• Develop and maintain data models, write complex SQL queries, and tune performance.
• Lead end-to-end initiatives from discovery to production support and drive alignment with stakeholders.
• Mentor teammates, conduct code reviews, and improve engineering quality.
