KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a fully remote contract role. The ideal candidate will lead backend development using Golang, architect scalable microservices, and work with AWS, Docker, and MySQL to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

The position requires 8+ years of software engineering and 3+ years of hands-on Golang experience, with a strong emphasis on API design, distributed systems, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Golang development experience.
• Experience with scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of MySQL design and performance.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Golang.
• Architect high-performance applications focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
• Develop and optimize MySQL database schemas, queries, and performance.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment pipelines.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot cloud-based applications within AWS environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Participate in system design discussions and architecture reviews.
• Develop testing strategies and execute system testing procedures.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
