Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking a backend software engineer to help design and scale the next generation of the Kestrel UI/backend stack. You will work across distributed systems, API surfaces, and data stores to ship reliable features used by hundreds of UI engineers.

You will collaborate with multiple backend teams, core services, and product teams to deliver high-scale services while emphasizing performance, testing, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or commensurate experience in data structures/algorithms and distributed systems.
• Ability to scale backend systems - sharding, partitioning, horizontal scaling is second nature.
• Love of shipping code and seeing it run in production.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Team player who collaborates across teams.
• Strong engineering practices: testing, code reviews, resilient architecture.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, test-driven environment.
• Meets commitments on time with quality software.
• Experience using AI to enhance decision-making and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale services.
• Take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.
• Triage issues and debug impact on service operations.
• Mentor other engineers on web and backend services.
• Continuously improve architecture, testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with product teams to document requirements and implement features.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities to maximize service availability.
