Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal Guidance Navigation & Control Systems Engineer to join our team.

The role requires US citizenship and a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP, and will support the SDS Division. You will architect, design and verify GNC solutions for cruise missiles, develop autopilot and guidance algorithms, integrate software with real-time flight code, and perform MATLAB/Simulink analyses.

Qualifikationen

• Requires 5+ years of GNC experience for cruise missiles or similar flight systems.
• US Citizenship with active Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SAP.
• Experience developing 6 DOF models and autopilot/guidance algorithms.
• Experience with MISRA C embedded code, MATLAB/Simulink, Python; Git and CI/CD.

Aufgaben

• Architect, design, and verify GNC solutions for cruise missiles and 6 DOF models.
• Develop autopilot, targeting, and guidance algorithms using advanced control theory.
• Define GNC requirements and interfaces to sensors, actuators, propulsion.
• Integrate GNC algorithms into real-time embedded flight software.
• Conduct Monte Carlo, robustness, and performance analyses in MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
• Support flight test planning, instrumentation, and post-flight diagnostics.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, structures, thermal, software, and systems teams.
• Implement GNC software with Git and CI/CD, adhering to RTOS constraints.
