Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer in Huntsville, AL to join the Missile Products Advanced Programs team. The role involves designing and validating control laws, building flight dynamics models, and performing analyses for reviews such as PDR/CDR, with 20–25% travel and a requirement for a Secret clearance.

You will work on complex problems, leveraging Matlab/Simulink, and contribute to software/hardware-in-the-loop simulations in a on-site setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience on a team performing Aeronautical Engineering, Flight Sciences and/or GNC.
• Proficient in Matlab/Simulink; autocoding of Simulink models.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, verify and test algorithms, software and simulation tools.
• Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance and stability margins.
• Build dynamic models and integrate into simulation environments (HIL).
• Develop modern control laws and conduct trade studies on control effectors.
• Tackle complex design problems and drive innovative solutions.
• Support design reviews (PDR/CDR) with analyses; analyze flight test data.
