Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a senior software engineer to lead a small team in the Battelspace Awareness Command and Control Software group. You will prototype and deploy advanced path planning, trajectory optimization, and multi-agent coordination for real-time C2 systems and unmanned platforms.

You will design robust planners and decision-making systems, validate them with high-fidelity simulations, and tailor algorithms for mission-critical use cases with collaborators across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling with programming in C/C++, Python and Matlab.
• Strong knowledge of path planning techniques (A*, D* Lite, RRT, RRT*, PRM, lattice/grid planners).
• Experience in guidance, navigation and control (GNC); trajectory optimization; or predictive models for vehicle dynamics/weapon system effectiveness (e.g., 6-DoF simulation).
• Solid understanding of applied mathematics: linear algebra, optimization, computational geometry, graph theory.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and control theory for autonomous platforms within C2 systems.
• Top Secret clearance eligibility for US work.

Responsibilities

• Define and influence the direction of a small team within the Command and Control Software organization, leveraging expertise in path planning and route optimization.
• Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for global and local path planning, trajectory optimization, and multi-agent coordination within command and control systems.
• Develop high-performance software for real-time C2 systems, from operator-facing mission planning tools to autonomous routing services for fleets of unmanned platforms.
• Design and implement robust planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems that generate safe, feasible, and optimal routes in dynamic environments.
• Analyze system performance using high-fidelity simulations, modeling tools, and statistical techniques to validate planner behavior across diverse missions.
• Drive customer success by tailoring algorithms for mission-critical use cases, including collaborative autonomy, asset routing, and obstacle avoidance.
• Integrate path planning technologies into the broader C2 software stack and lifecycle, from requirements through testing and optimization.
• Translate technical progress into actionable insights for stakeholders including colleagues, operators, and end-users.
