Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer to own all aspects of vehicle GNC across development and operations within a fast-paced team.

You will implement flight, test, and analysis systems, develop robust algorithms for satellites, upper stages, and landers, and generate verification data.

The role also includes mentoring other engineers, defining best practices, and creating tools to accelerate mission realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 5+ years of spacecraft GNC design and analysis.
• Proficiency in Matlab and C++.
• Experience with control analysis in time and frequency domains, estimation theory, or astrodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Implement GNC flight, test, and analysis systems for space vehicles.
• Develop robust algorithms for satellites, upper stages, and landers.
• Generate GNC verification data and support software development.
• Mentor engineers and define GNC best practices.
• Create tools to enable missions through vehicle GNC systems.
• Communicate design needs and capability to the broader engineering team.
