Job summary

Vardaspace is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer in El Segundo, California. You will lead the full life cycle of GNC development, conducting simulations and flight testing to ensure mission success.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge in aerospace systems and advanced modeling techniques using C++ and Python. This position offers excellent benefits including flexible PTO, 100% company-paid health insurance, and substantial equity in a growing startup.

Qualifications

• 5+ proven years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge in designing, modeling, testing, and flying aerospace guidance, navigation, and control systems.
• Experience with spacecraft attitude determination and control system design.

Responsibilities

• ADCS hardware performance specification including sizing of reaction wheels, torque rods, IMU/GPS, and star trackers.
• Develop 6 degree of freedom vehicle simulation using C++, Python and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Integration and testing of GNC sensors, actuators, and software in hardware-in-the-loop environment.
