Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer to own the full GNC lifecycle from design to flight testing and on-orbit operations.

You will build and validate 6-DOF simulations in C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink, perform Monte Carlo analyses, and support end-to-end vehicle integration and mission planning with on-orbit operations support.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years experience or PhD with 3+ years in aerospace GNC.
• Design, modeling, testing and flight of GNC systems.
• Strong C++/Python software/model development skills.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop ADCS and attitude control strategies including orbital maneuvers.
• Create 6-DoF vehicle simulations in C++, Python and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Run Monte Carlo analyses to assess performance and risk.
• Integrate and test GNC sensors, actuators, and software in hardware-in-the-loop.
• Coordinate with operators, agencies, and stakeholders and support flight operations.
