Job summary

Draper is seeking a Group Leader for the GN&C System Architecture Group in Cambridge, MA. You will lead a 15–20 person team focused on integrated GN&C concepts and architectures aligned with national security needs.

You will mentor engineers, drive program collaborations, ensure staffing and compliance, and shape technology roadmaps while working under the System Concepts & Design Engineering Division Leader.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of engineering experience in the design, development, and management of complex systems.
  • Experience leading a group of 10-20 engineers with performance coaching and career development.
  • Active US government security clearance preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative details and career development for group members.
  • Lead performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Shape Draper’s technology offerings and open new business areas based on program and technical experience.
  • Analyze Draper strategy and build capability in key areas aligning with customer priorities.
  • Maintain staffing awareness and hire for relevant needs; review resumes and interview candidates.
  • Promote internal and external R&D activities and align with technology roadmaps.
  • Approve timesheets, vacation requests, travel requisitions and expenses.
  • Ensure group compliance with Draper policies and training.
