Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Group Leader to guide the System Validation, Deployment, and Surveillance team within the Systems Engineering directorate. You will lead 10–15 engineers, drive test concepts through validation, and shape technology roadmaps aligned with customer priorities.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage performance, and pursue strategic R&D with potential university partnerships while advancing Draper’s GN&C capabilities for national

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering, design, development, and management of complex systems.
• Existing (active) US Government Security Clearance.
• Experience with GN&C, DoD, space, inertial systems.
• Experience leading or contributing to technical and cost proposals.
• Technical leadership experience (Technical Director/PI) in developing new technologies.

• Manage administrative details and career development for group members.
• Convey information from management to group members.
• Lead, mentor, build depth in area of expertise, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Staffing awareness; write job requisitions and review resumes; conduct interviews.
• Serve as Lead Subject Matter Expert for area of specialty.
• Shape Draper’s technology offerings and open new business areas.
• Analyze Draper strategy to build capability aligned with customer priorities.
• Support staff development via reviews and training opportunities.
