Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control Software Engineer to own full-lifecycle G&C algorithms for the New Glenn program. Design and implement flight software in C/C++, develop MATLAB/Simulink-based algorithms, and perform sensitivity analyses, Monte Carlo studies, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.

The role requires 7+ years in G&C software for safety-critical applications, a BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering, and U.S. citizenship or eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years experience developing G&C software for aerospace or safety-critical apps.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm design and analysis.
• US citizen or eligible for U.S. work status (citizen, permanent resident, refugee/asylum).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop guidance and control algorithms for New Glenn flight control.
• Sequence mission activities and vehicle system commands.
• Develop G&C requirements with flow downs to subsystems and software levels.
• Build guidance and control algorithms in Simulink for auto-code generation.
• Implement hand-coded flight software in C/C++ where appropriate.
• Conduct stability and performance assessments; develop models.
• Perform Monte Carlo simulations to characterize performance and robustness.
• Author and execute unit tests; ensure code coverage and verification.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop integration and test campaigns.
• Validate plant models and algorithm performance with test/flight data.
• Coordinate cross-team analyses and lead technical reviews.
