Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle seeks a seasoned engineer to own G&C software for the New Glenn program. You will design and implement guidance and control algorithms, develop models in Simulink, and contribute to flight software in C/C++.

Expect rigorous validation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and cross-team analyses across vehicle systems. The role requires a strong background in aerospace control theory, MATLAB/Simulink proficiency, and problem-solving in safety-critical environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience developing G&C software for aerospace or safety-critical apps.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm design and analysis.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop guidance and control algorithms for New Glenn flight control.
• Sequence mission activities and vehicle system commands.
• Develop GN&C requirements with flow downs to subsystems and software levels.
• Build guidance and control algorithms in Simulink for auto-code generation to target.
• Implement hand-coded flight software in C/C++ where appropriate.
• Lead root cause investigations and peer reviews of GN&C products.
