Job summary

Blue Origin in New York is seeking an experienced engineer to own guidance, control, and sequencing algorithms for the New Glenn vehicle. You will design, implement, and verify flight software, build models in MATLAB/Simulink, and contribute to robust, test-driven development in a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace or related engineering field.
• 3+ years in aerospace guidance, control, or simulation.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop guidance and control algorithms for flight.
• Sequence mission activities and vehicle system commands.
• Develop GN&C requirements with flow downs to subsystems and software levels.
• Build guidance and control algorithms in Simulink for auto-code generation.
• Implement hand-coded flight software in C/C++ where appropriate.
• Conduct stability and performance assessments including linear/nonlinear models.
• Perform Monte Carlo simulations to characterize performance and robustness.
• Author and execute unit tests and support verification activities.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop integration and test campaigns.
• Validate plant models and algorithm performance with test/flight data.
