Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Senior GN&C engineer to design, develop, and field advanced control technologies for defense and commercial customers in Sunnyvale, CA. You will lead the development of flight, surface, and space control subsystems, ensuring adherence to rigorous standards and mission objectives.

Expect to collaborate across perception, mission planning, and test teams while mentoring junior engineers and delivering robust algorithms and simulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Matlab/Simulink and programming in Python, C, C++, or Fortran.
• Deep understanding of classical control concepts (PID/PD, stability, Monte Carlo).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a senior GN&C engineer and system integrator from concept to flight-ready delivery.
• Produce algorithmic specs, requirements, docs, and verification plans.
• Coordinate with perception, mission planning, simulation, and test teams.
• Translate customer needs into GN&C solutions and report progress to leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay current with GN&C advancements.
