Job summary

The Boeing Company is hiring Guidance Navigation & Control Engineers (Senior or Principal) for the ESG team in Seal Beach or El Segundo, CA. You will design GN&C algorithms, build high-fidelity simulations, test flight software, and support spaceflight tests.

Responsibilities include developing GN&C software, performing trajectory optimization, and leading project teams across cross-functional groups. A Tier 5 clearance and extensive spacecraft experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent related field.
• Active Tier 5 (T5) Clearance required (SSBI) for this role.
• 14+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Engineering experience with spacecraft.
• Experience using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience developing GN&C algorithms, models and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify GN&C algorithms for spacecraft.
• Develop and maintain 6-DOF dynamics simulations and tools for mission assessment.
• Implement and validate GN&C flight software (MATLAB/Simulink models and C/C++ prototypes).
• Apply astrodynamics and flight mechanics to mission design and trajectory optimization.
• Develop guidance laws and autonomy tools for on-orbit operations.
• Lead engineering project teams and mentor engineers.
