Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a Senior GMS Application Software Development Engineer in Houston to design and implement advanced GMS software for power grid control. You will collaborate with customers to align software with requirements, develop robust workflows between SCADA/EMS/GMS and IT/OT systems, and create comprehensive test plans with the customer teams.

You will also train customers on GMS usage, resolve technical issues with the team, and contribute to proposals and bids while ensuring

Qualifications

Masters/PhD in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
4–10 years of software development, debugging and performance tuning.
Proficiency with C/C++ and FORTRAN is required.
Experience with power system modeling and optimization is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop software solutions for GMS applications and improve system functionality.
Collaborate with customer experts to tailor applications to requirements.
Integrate SCADA/EMS/GMS systems and other IT/OT interfaces with robust testing.
Provide training to customers and resolve technical issues with the team.
Support proposals and tendering activities with high-quality bids.
Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
