Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. seeks a Senior GMS Application Software Development Engineer in Houston, TX, to design, develop, and integrate GMS applications with customer systems. You will collaborate with customers and our technical team to ensure robust solutions and successful deployments.

The role requires 4–10 years in software development, strong C/C++ and FORTRAN skills, and deep knowledge of power system modelling and numerical methods. Agile practices and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Masters/PhD in Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ and FORTRAN with 4–10 years in software development.
• Solid background in numerical analysis, optimization and power system modelling.
• Experience with optimization toolkits or ML/AI packages is a plus.
• Experience with power system modeling, analysis, and simulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for GMS applications to enhance functionality and performance.
• Configure applications to meet customer requirements in collaboration with experts.
• Develop robust workflow integrations between SCADA/EMS/GMS and other IT/OT systems.
• Create and execute test plans with customers to verify system requirements.
• Provide training on GMS functions and support proposals and tendering teams.
