Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. in Seattle, WA, seeks a Senior Trade Classification Specialist to ensure accurate HTS/HTSUS and ECCN classifications for imports and exports. You will collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and brokers to maintain compliant product data and documentation.

The role requires strong technical/analytical skills, hands-on tariff classification experience, and knowledge of HTSUS, GRIs, and EAR/ITAR controls. A licensed US Customs Broker is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on customs tariff classification experience in a corporate trade compliance environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of tariff classification, customs regulations, and export controls.
• Experience interpreting technical documentation like drawings and BOMs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/GTM tools.
• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) or pursuing license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review product information and specifications to assign HTS/HTSUS classifications for imports and Schedule B codes for exports.
• Determine and maintain ECCN classifications and related export jurisdiction.
• Classify products early in development and maintain a standardized classification framework.
• Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure updates to parts database and compliance.
• Develop defendable classification rationales with notes and rulings.
• Maintain product classification database within ERP/GTM systems.
• Support origin determinations under USMCA and FTAs.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, and Product Management for data.
• Assist with CBP inquiries and internal audits.
• Monitor changes in HS, HTSUS, and rulings; update procedures.
• Contribute to training materials on classification data requirements.
