Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Deerfield, IL is seeking a Senior Trade and Customs Analyst to ensure our global trade operations stay compliant, efficient, and strategically optimized. You will serve as a subject matter expert supporting U.S.

and international import/export activities while navigating complex customs regulations and trade programs. You will collaborate with logistics, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, finance, legal, customs brokers, and government agencies to manage compliance,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of global trade, customs compliance, or related experience.
• Experience with BI Publisher for reporting and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and international trade requirements.
• Experience supporting CTPAT, ISA, FTZ, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) programs.
• Experience working with brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Support daily import and export operations and ensure compliant cross-border movement of products and materials.
• Monitor customs clearance activities, resolve shipment delays and compliance issues, and collaborate with customs brokers and logistics providers.
• Ensure accurate customs declarations, tariff classifications, customs valuation determinations, and country of origin assessments.
• Support and maintain Baxter's trade compliance programs, including CTPAT, ISA, FTZ, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) initiatives.
• Conduct post-entry reviews, compliance testing, self-assessments, audits, and corrective action activities to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Manage FTA qualification and certification processes, perform origin analyses, and identify duty savings opportunities through trade preference programs.
• Support FTZ administration activities, including inventory control, reporting, reconciliations, admissions, withdrawals, and audit preparation.
• Analyze trade data, duty spend, broker performance metrics, and compliance trends to develop reports, dashboards, and recommendations that improve operational performance and reduce risk.
