Job summary

KBR is seeking a Global Counsel, Trade Compliance based in Arlington, VA to lead the company's international trade compliance program. You will guide export controls, licensing, and cross-border activities, partnering with business leaders and regulators to ensure compliant growth.

The role requires a JD and substantial experience in global trade controls, sanctions, and compliance program management, with opportunities to drive policy, training, and risk mitigation across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar in at least one U.S. state.
• 8–10 years of legal practice experience in trade compliance.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. export controls (ITAR/EAR) and sanctions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee global trade compliance program and ITCO operations.
• Provide guidance on export licensing, classifications, and authorizations.
• Advise on cross-border transactions, audits, and regulatory engagement.
• Develop and update trade compliance policies and training.
• Review projects for export control requirements and mitigate risks.
• Manage denied party screening and due diligence processes.
