Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Network Architect to design, deploy, and maintain scalable network infrastructure supporting the global platform. You will lead standards, automation, and large-scale connectivity initiatives across carriers and data centers.

The role emphasizes expert knowledge in routing protocols, Juniper hardware, and cross-functional teamwork to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient traffic management across global networks.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in complex networks and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Expertise in building and deploying infrastructure, automation tooling and distributed systems handling large-scale network traffic
• Expert knowledge of core routing protocols: BGP, MPLS, ISIS, Segment Routing for global traffic engineering
• Juniper hardware and software expertise
• Knowledge of Internet topology, IP routing, and CDN platforms
• Ability to work as a self-starter with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Architecting, documenting, building and supporting solutions for efficient processes
• Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deploy global points of presence
• Designing large-scale connectivity including carrier transport, dark fiber, and DWDM
• Developing router configuration standards for complex global networks
• Updating standards and documentation with deployments
