Job summary

Akamai is seeking a Senior Architect to design distributed systems at scale within the Network Operations Systems Group. You will collaborate with product management, engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver high‑quality, reliable software across the Connected Cloud of 300k+ servers.

You have 12 years of experience in distributed architectures, Unix/Linux environments, and a proven ability to present architectural designs and security visions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience in distributed system architecture.
• Ability to present and support architectural designs to cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.
• Present architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross-functional teams.
• Define and implement standards for systems design, development, testing and quality assurance practices.
• Design reliable, high-quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems.
• Conduct research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation.
