Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Live Broadcast Operations Engineer to manage day-to-day global live-streaming operations. You will coordinate with the Live Streaming Pipeline Engineering Team, Production teams, and Reliability Engineering, and travel as needed.

You will drive initiatives across pitch, planning, testing and launch, collaborating across production, hardware, broadcast engineering and software teams to keep Netflix live and at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in broadcast remote operations, coordinating or supervising.
• Strong understanding of digital audio/video fundamentals and delivery formats.
• Experience with video transport protocols (SDI, SMPTE-2110, RTP, RTMP, SRT, Zixi, RIST).
• Knowledge of OTT distribution, remote production facilities, and vendor ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and partner with multiple stakeholders for smooth live-streaming events.
• Collaborate with contractors and in-house engineers for transmission planning.
• Establish partnerships with transmission vendors and hardware suppliers.
• Organize venue infrastructure maps for communication across teams.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and report audio, video, and infrastructure issues.
• Monitor cloud-based and hardware video infrastructure and remediate issues.
• Travel and be present at launch days in NOC or ground facilities.
