Job summary

Volvo Group in Shippensburg, PA, is seeking a Senior Commodity Buyer for Global Sustainable Power. You will support purchasing activities within Sustainable Power, coordinate supplier tasks, and ensure alignment with established purchasing processes while working with an international team.

You will interact with suppliers and Volvo functions such as R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Logistics, contribute to sub‑commodity strategies, and help optimize the supplier base and ensure cost‑effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.
• 5 years of experience in buying major commodities in construction equipment.
• Experience with global supply and applying problem-solving techniques including root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support purchasing activities within the Sustainable Power organization, coordinating supplier related tasks.
• Work within an international team setting and help facilitate the transition toward new technologies while maintaining support for the existing supplier base.
• Interact with suppliers as well as Volvo functions including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
• Be part of the Sustainable Power Global Commodity team, providing input and participating in activities connected to selected sub commodities as assigned.
• Support the Global Commodity Manager in sourcing activities for assigned components in line with QSCC expectations.
• Participate in evaluations, selections, and supplier follow-up according to Volvo CE processes.
• Contribute to sub commodity strategies and related documentation.
• Coordinate activities aimed at optimizing and improving the supplier base.
• Coordinate information flow across internal stakeholders.
• Support Regional Commodity meetings and coordinate and drive meetings and follow-up actions.
