Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation in Chicago, IL seeks a seasoned Relationship Manager for Global Capital Markets to manage complex client accounts, monitor risk, and coordinate regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors and internal teams to structure and close transactions, review documents, and lead strategic initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in GCM client service, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets.
• High proficiency with personal computers and relevant software.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems and activity for moderately to highly risk accounts to ensure policy compliance.
• Review and comment on operative documents and agreements for assigned accounts.
• Coordinate risk monitoring and regulatory compliance with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Audit as required.
• Resolve control and client service issues in a timely manner with internal and external resources.
• Work with external parties to structure and close GCM transactions.
• Perform account administration including cash flows, fee billing, reporting and tickler processing.
• Participate in sales calls and prepare fee proposals to support new opportunities.
• Evaluate fees for conformity with fee schedules and monitor aged receivables with Fee Billing.
• Manage relationships with current and prospective clients and referral sources.
• Represent GCM at closings and lead client meetings and related documentation.
• Lead departmental projects and corporate initiatives; mentor junior staff.
