Aston Carter invites an experienced Senior Accountant to join its global Corporate Accounting team in Carlsbad, CA. You will contribute to financial reporting, consolidations, transfer pricing, and process improvements while collaborating across Accounting, Tax, Finance, and Cost Accounting.

This contract role covers month-end close, journal entries, asset accounting, and audits, with hands-on data analysis using SAP/JDE and Excel in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a large corporation or public accounting.
• Strong general ledger accounting experience, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large volumes of financial data.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Partner with Accounting, Tax, Finance, and Cost Accounting teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare management reports and provide meaningful analysis of financial results, trends, and variances
• Support consolidation and reporting processes across multiple entities and business units
• Maintain and analyze transfer pricing data while assisting with intercompany accounting activities
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial records
• Assist with capital project accounting and fixed asset reporting activities
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Leverage Excel, ERP systems, and reporting tools to analyze large data sets and drive informed business decisions
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls
• Participate in special projects and initiatives that support the continued growth and evolution of the finance organization
