Job summary

BlackLine is seeking an Accounting Manager (Individual Contributor) to own complex GL operations, month-end close, and technical reconciliations in a fast-paced SaaS environment. This role emphasizes automation, AI integration, and cross-functional collaboration without direct people management.

The ideal candidate brings 5–8+ years in GL accounting, strong US GAAP and SOX knowledge, and hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, and BlackLine. Hybrid work model in LA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license (or CPA candidate) preferred.
• 5–8+ years of progressive GL accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, enterprise software, or fast-paced technology environments.
• Proven track record as a high-performing individual contributor managing complex close processes and account reconciliations independently.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and close management software (BlackLine).
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with BI/data warehouse reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for assigned functional areas, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with US GAAP.
• Prepare and post complex journal entries, intercompany transactions, accrued liabilities, and equity/capitalized items.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and flux explanations to support FP&A and executive reporting.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, eliminate manual touchpoints, and shorten the close cycle.
• Become a super-user of BlackLine and champion its use across the team.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Tax, IT, Legal) on business initiatives and system changes.
• Maintain SOX compliance and internal controls; assist with audit schedules and liaison with auditors.
