Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant in Orlando, FL to uphold GAAP and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The role focuses on reconciliations, journal entries, tax filings, and audit support in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and meticulous attention to detail, with preferred familiarity in Deltek Costpoint and government-related accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, especially with project accounting.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and post journal entries and accounts payable vouchers with proper coding.
• Review and post daily cash receipts to the general ledger.
• Monitor fixed assets and prepaid accounts for proper coding.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and file monthly GET/Excise taxes.
• Coordinate with external agencies for state registrations.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
