Job summary

ACC Recruiters is seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to own the general ledger, perform complex accounting activities, and support timely financial reporting. You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closes while analyzing variances and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong GAAP background, 4+ years of GL experience, and solid Excel/ERP skills. Independence and accuracy are essential in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant general ledger experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or unusual activity.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with financial data and spreadsheets.
• Experience working with an ERP or accounting system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with accounting and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Perform complex accounting activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Investigate discrepancies and unusual account activity; resolve issues.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with other departments researching transactions and resolving accounting questions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Provide guidance to less experienced accounting team members and participate in special projects.
