Job summary

The Resort at Summerlin in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior GL Accountant to manage general ledger processes, fixed asset accounting, and month‑end closings. You will ensure accurate journal entries, perform detailed reconciliations, and drive process improvements within a high‑volume environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in accounting, 5+ years in full cycle accounting, and strong Excel/GAAP knowledge. CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• CPA is preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in full cycle accounting
• Experience with fixed asset accounting is required
• Experience with general ledger systems and data imports/exports
• Advanced knowledge of GL reconciliations and Excel

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accurate journal entries for accrual accounting in GAAP
• Monitor and report daily banking transactions
• Analyze, record, and reconcile account accruals from operating departments
• Maintain fixed asset reporting, additions, disposals, and roll-forwards
• Ensure accuracy of fixed assets including depreciation
• Coordinate month-end closing and audit schedules
• Prepare and submit local and state taxes
• Identify and correct errors by journal entry reviews
• Review postings from sub-systems into the GL
• Generate financial reports and maintain internal controls
