Job summary

Sakata Seed America, Inc. is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to support accurate and timely month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

The role reports to the Accounting Manager and requires strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail. Responsibilities include preparing adjusting entries, reviewing reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany activity, and tax-related filings, while supporting audits and JSOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA license preferred.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger duties.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Dynamics 365 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter adjusting and recurring journal entries for general ledger accounts.
• Review month-end close journal entries and assist with close process.
• Prepare or review reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyze variances.
• Support intercompany activity, tax filings, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with internal controls and SOX/compliance processes.
