Job summary

MEC General Contractors in Florida seeks a Senior Accountant - General Ledger to own the integrity of the GL and balance sheet. You will handle daily cash management, bank reconciliations, and the monthly close for accruals, fixed assets, and debt.

You will drive efficiency with AI and automation, support audits, and collaborate with the Controller and VP of Finance. Experience with Sage Intacct and US GAAP is required; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years of GL, close or reconciliation experience; construction or project-based accounting preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting and internal controls.
• Experience with a cloud ERP; Sage Intacct strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation workbooks).
• Regular, practical use of AI tools in accounting or analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Record cash movements and manage daily cash flow in the accounting system.
• Post accruals, prepaids and reclasses; review P&L for coding errors.
• Maintain fixed asset schedule; post depreciation and debt balances.
• Prepare sales tax returns and reconcile payroll benefit accounts.
• Identify for process improvements and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate close.
