Job summary

JSI invites you to join our Engineering team as a GIS Specialist III in Charlotte, NC, where you'll lead GIS efforts for large-scale fiber projects and shape lifecycle management. You’ll collaborate with engineering, management, and clients, design advanced geoprocessing tools and dashboards, and mentor junior staff while upholding data integrity and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geo Design, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years GIS experience; 3+ years in telecom or OSP; professional certifications preferred.
• Master’s degree in GIS or Engineering with 8+ years GIS experience and 5+ years OSP preferred.
• Experience with AI frameworks for geospatial solutions and geodatabase design.

Responsibilities

• Lead GIS efforts for large-scale fiber projects from planning to lifecycle management.
• Design and implement advanced geoprocessing tools, dashboards, and workflows.
• Collaborate with OSP Management, engineering teams, and clients to resolve GIS challenges.
• Mentor GIS staff and support region-wide training initiatives.
• Oversee QC/QA protocols ensuring data integrity and standards compliance.
• Coordinate cross-department GIS initiatives and drive innovative solutions.
