Job summary

Direct Communications is seeking a GIS Analyst I in Engineering & Network Operations to support our fiber infrastructure mapping and data integrity. You will collaborate with engineering design, field operations, and senior GIS staff to keep maps and inventories accurate and actionable.

Education: a Bachelor’s in GIS or related field; 0–2 years GIS experience preferred. Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, SQL, and Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in GIS operations; telecom/broadband infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Spatial editing and digitizing to build enterprise digital map databases and inventories.
• Fiber network mapping and inventory management with strand-by-strand detail.
• Quality assurance and as-built verification against engineering plans.
