Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist to join our Environmental Services Geospatial team in Madison, WI. You will lead GIS projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver ESRI-based solutions for environmental assessments and planning.

You will apply ArcGIS expertise, manage data for diverse projects, and mentor junior GIS staff while engaging with clients and internal colleagues to implement efficient geospatial workflows.

Qualifications

• ArcGIS software experience, especially ArcPro and ArcGIS Online.
• Experience using GIS to solve problems and report analytical data to multidisciplinary teams.
• Training in GIS mapping, geospatial analysis, and geographic principles.
• Strong cartographic skills and ability to present complex data clearly.
• Experience with mobile data collection tools and AGO products.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information across ESRI ArcGIS platforms.
• Produce custom thematic maps and data analysis for deliverables.
• Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field crews (Survey123, Field Maps, AGO).
• Lead GIS projects including data, budgets, and timelines.
• Maintain data integrity and quality control.
