Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, GIS to join the on-site team at our downtown Chicago headquarters. You will contribute to a geospatial application portfolio, primarily using React/Typescript, with Python or C# for backend tasks and ArcGIS SDK integration.

The role emphasizes full software lifecycle involvement, UI/UX thinking, and documentation, with a collaborative approach and portfolio submission encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 5+ years of front-end development with React, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• 5+ years of scripting with Python or similar data processing tools.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD and Agile methodologies (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Jira).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and maintain modular UI components using React & Typescript.
• Develop geoprocessing tools, automation, and web services with Python, C#, or Node.js.
• Create Python geoprocessing tools for ArcGIS.
• Manage geospatial data and ETL processes; integrate with APIs.
• Participate in planning, code reviews, and DevOps workflows.
• Collaborate with GIS teams for ongoing UI/stack improvements.
• Set up server-based GIS and web applications; monitor data sources.
