Job summary

Tacoma Power is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services group within the Transmission & Distribution section. The role focuses on GIS data in the Esri Utility Network and requires strong knowledge of electrical power systems.

Responsibilities include acting as SME, developing documentation, leading QA for a digital twin of the network, and providing end-user training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in public/business administration, information technology or directly related field.
• 4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst experience in related area.

Job description

Tacoma Power is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services (EPS) group within Tacoma Power’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) section. This role requires strong proficiency in GIS mapping and a solid understanding of electrical power systems and utility operations as well as familiarity with the Esri Utility Network, and related business systems.

Responsibilities Include

• Review, evaluate, and manage Tacoma Power’s T&D GIS data residing in the Esri Utility Network environment.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between EPS and the T&D Product Owner, T&D Supervisors and the Utility Technology Services (UTS) team on GIS-related items including but not limited to testing, troubleshooting, drafting standards, enhancements, and best work processes.
• Develop, update, and maintain documentation for staff procedures and workflow processes.
• Serve as a technical lead and GIS subject matter expert; ensure a digital twin of the transmission and distribution network through quality assurance measures.
• As assigned, provides end user training on related systems and process updates.

Minimum Education*

Bachelor's degree public or business administration, information technology or directly related field

Minimum Experience*

4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support or database maintenance work in area related to assignment

• Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $105,643.20 - $148,740.80
