Job summary

City of Tacoma is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services (EPS) group within Tacoma Power’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) section. The role requires strong GIS mapping proficiency and a solid understanding of electrical power systems.

Responsibilities include managing GIS data in Esri Utility Network, serving as a SME and liaison between EPS and T&D teams, and leading documentation and training efforts to support

Job description

Tacoma Power is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst with advanced GIS expertise to support the Engineering Projects and Services (EPS) group within Tacoma Power’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) section. This role requires strong proficiency in GIS mapping and a solid understanding of electrical power systems and utility operations as well as familiarity with the Esri Utility Network, and related business systems.

Responsibilities Include:

• Review, evaluate, and manage Tacoma Power’s T&D GIS data residing in the Esri Utility Network environment.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between EPS and the T&D Product Owner, T&D Supervisors and the Utility Technology Services (UTS) team on GIS-related items including but not limited to testing, troubleshooting, drafting standards, enhancements, and best work processes.
• Develop, update, and maintain documentation for staff procedures and workflow processes.
• Serve as a technical lead and GIS subject matter expert; ensure a digital twin of the transmission and distribution network through quality assurance measures.
• As assigned, provides end user training on related systems and process updates.

Minimum Education*

Bachelor's degree public or business administration, information technology or directly related field

Minimum Experience*

4 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or functional analyst, user support or database maintenance work in area related to assignment

*Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis

Pay Details:

Annual Salary: $105,643.20 - $148,740.80
